From my childhood, there was one activity that I did every spring without fail. With a bucket and net, my dad would take myself and younger brother across to the common to collect FROG SPAWN. It was fantastic, we usually came home soaked as without a dought one of us would have fallen in leaning over and flooded our wellington boots.
That frog spawn was divided up most of it going into the pond but my parents who were animal crazy put some in a tank and we watched the miracle of spring as the frog spawn hatched and the tadpoles developed.
When my children were toddlers it was a tradition that I continued with them and I used to do it in my classroom. There are right and wrong ways to raise tadpoles and in issue 2 of Inspireroo, I reveal the best ways for you to raise tadpoles so that you and your children get the best experience possible and it’s kind to the animals.
